A Little History About “A Party At The Moontower”
For anyone who has seen the classic movie “Dazed and Confused,” Wooderson references moving the parent-ruined party to the moontower. We saw the characters (unsafely) climbing up, but there’s very little background on how it was used. It’s actually a really interesting piece of Texas history! In the late 19th century, moontowers, or moonlight towers, were used in lieu of streetlamps in areas where it was impractical to place individual poles. They were large structures, often as high as 165 feet in the air. They utilized arc beams and were capable of lighting several blocks. Surprisingly enough, the city of Austin is the only city in the world which is known to still have moontowers.
Let Us Light The Way
Imagine being able work at any hour as if it was daylight. You don’t have to stop work on an important frac job. There’s not reason to send crews home at night and lose time on a job. Mechanics and technicians are able to work on equipment which has broken down instead of waiting until the next morning. Poor weather conditions don’t have to shut down operations. Our light towers are capable of brightening various areas, regardless of electrical connections. Each light tower is attached to its own generator, so it doesn’t require an permanent power source.
